  1. IRIX 6.5 Applications, June '98 README
  2. Silicon Graphics, Inc.

  4. This Applications CD is a companion for IRIX 6.5, and contains the
  5. IRIX Desktop and various desktop applications. This CD replaces
  6. previous IRIX Applications CDs.  You may notice the following differences
  7. between this IRIX 6.5 Applications CD and previous Applications CDs:
  8.  
  9.   * Insignia's SoftWindows95 version 4.01 is now shipping on its own CD. 
  10.   * We are no longer supporting the Xing Streamworks Player.
  11.   * We are no longer shipping MediaMail or MediaMail Pro.
  12.   * The Customer Welcome now ships on the IRIX 6.5 Installation Tools CD.
  13.   * CosmoCreate is replacing WebMagic on this CD.

  15. Important Notes About the Products
  16. ----------------------------------
  17. Netscape Communicator Client 4.05 is part of the default
  18. distribution on this CD.  Customers who only use the browser
  19. functionality (and not the email, newsgroups, etc.) may prefer
  20. to install the Netscape Navigator Client (netscape_lite) 4.05.
  21. From Software Manager, open /CDROM/dist/extras to install this product.
  22.  
  23. Netscape's FastTrack Personal Server on this CD will
  24. upgrade and replace the original OutBox Webserver. The
  25. FastTrack server will require you to also select the
  26. Netscape Admin server for installation. FastTrack will work
  27. with OutBox, and needs no special configuration.

  33. * Impressario 2.2.3 PostScript Renderer

  43. office. If you are a customer of a Silicon Graphics
  44. reseller, please contact your local support provider.

  46. Release Notes
  47. -------------
  48. You may choose to read the release notes for products before
  49. installing them. You can now view the release notes easily
  50. from Software Manager: when you click on the product, the
  51. product name will highlight like a blue HTML link if there
  52. are release notes available. Simply click again on the link
  53. to bring up the Release Notes window.
