IRIX 6.5 Applications, June '98 README
Silicon Graphics, Inc.
This Applications CD is a companion for IRIX 6.5, and contains the
IRIX Desktop and various desktop applications. This CD replaces
previous IRIX Applications CDs. You may notice the following differences
between this IRIX 6.5 Applications CD and previous Applications CDs:
* Insignia's SoftWindows95 version 4.01 is now shipping on its own CD.
* We are no longer supporting the Xing Streamworks Player.
* We are no longer shipping MediaMail or MediaMail Pro.
* The Customer Welcome now ships on the IRIX 6.5 Installation Tools CD.
* CosmoCreate is replacing WebMagic on this CD.
Important Notes About the Products
----------------------------------
Netscape Communicator Client 4.05 is part of the default
distribution on this CD. Customers who only use the browser
functionality (and not the email, newsgroups, etc.) may prefer
to install the Netscape Navigator Client (netscape_lite) 4.05.
From Software Manager, open /CDROM/dist/extras to install this product.
Netscape's FastTrack Personal Server on this CD will
upgrade and replace the original OutBox Webserver. The
FastTrack server will require you to also select the
Netscape Admin server for installation. FastTrack will work
with OutBox, and needs no special configuration.

The following products on this CD require licenses:
* Annotator
* Impressario 2.2.3 PostScript Renderer

Graphics representative. Some products have evaluation
licenses available from

demolicense@sgi.com. If you have difficulty with any
software license, please contact Silicon Graphics' support
organization (800-800-4SGI). Customers outside of the US
and Canada should contact their local Silicon Graphics
office. If you are a customer of a Silicon Graphics
reseller, please contact your local support provider.
Release Notes
-------------
You may choose to read the release notes for products before
installing them. You can now view the release notes easily
from Software Manager: when you click on the product, the
product name will highlight like a blue HTML link if there
are release notes available. Simply click again on the link
to bring up the Release Notes window.
